About Us
Pastor Elisha Oumo was born in 1955 and raised under very teething poverty. Among six children, Elisha grew up in a highly social environment. He attended school up to ordinary level and joined a skills college as the vulnerable parents could not continue to sustain him for higher education. He graduated as a motor vehicle technician at Lira Technician Institute. It was at this institution in 1975 May 20, that Elisha had an experience with Jesus Christ. Born Again he was. The old godless vulnerable life came to an end and a new way - a life he
has never regretted took course in his life. Elisha's greatest testimony is "God is no respecter of persons, He can make any one what He wants him to be. He filled me with a peace of mind."
Elisha first tested a call on his life in 1978. Unlike many ministers, Elisha did not rush with the call. He counted the cost. He planned for it and when he yielded, it was a once for all commitment. In 1980 Elisha had two life changing experiences - yielding to ministry and marriage to Jane.
Since then he has served in a local church as a pastor and a mentor. He has also opened up a number of local churches during his missionary trips in East Africa.
Famous for the way he outlines the scriptures, Elisha has been exemplary and confidently acceptable to many Christian and civic leaders in his settlement District of Jinja. In 1996, Elisha joined Global Theological Seminary and graduated top of his class with a Diploma in Theology 2000. In 2002, he joined the same seminary for a BA with special interest in Greek, a subject he knows will increase his knowledge in rightly dividing the word of God.
At the rampant outcry for spiritual and social - economic help by many Christian leaders, Elisha was moved with compassion to start an independent interdenominational Christian organization called "House of Mercy Ministries" in order to address these concerns. Abundant Life Church released him and blessed his new Ministry.
He is married and a father to six sons.
